Public realm placemaking uses the arts, live experiences and other creative activity to strengthen the connection between people and the places they share with other members of the community.

Over the years, the We Are Placemaking has worked with a range of clients, customers and communities to reimagine public spaces local to them. We work with a wide range of organisations, in both the private and public sectors, to help bring public spaces to life with vibrant and eclectic scenes.

The We Are Placemaking team believe that art and culture are essential components of community life. We therefore produce “Hero Moments” that transform the public realm to help attract anchor tenants of the future.

Our team has years of experience in organising events and activations that leave a lasting impression on a community or space. We are always looking for new ways to enrich areas while creating lasting memories for members of the community and visitors from further afield.

What is Public Realm Placemaking?

At it’s heart, public realm placemaking reimagines public spaces to create vibrant places for people to gather, socialise, and enjoy their surroundings, while attracting returning visitors to invest in this space and surrounding areas in the future.

Placemaking can take many different forms – from public art installations and community festivals to epic light showsinteractive gaming experiences, and other forms of creative placemaking in public spaces.

A lot goes into public realm placemaking – from Event Production and Stakeholder Management to Artist Liaison, Logistics Management and so much more.

The We Are Placemaking team is able to lead on all of these different aspects of events to ensure their smooth and successful delivery. We have spent years bringing a range of public spaces to life, and are equipped with the skills, knowledge and experience to bring your concept to life too.
