Creative placemaking is an approach to urban development that uses the arts, live experiences and creative expression to transform public spaces for customers and communities.
Since the 1990s, the concept of creative placemaking has been a key part of creating a sense of community within the public realm, and the We Are Placemaking team work with a range of public and private sector organisations to make that happen.
We believe that art and culture are essential components of community life, and we produce “Hero Moments” that transform the public realm to help attract anchor tenants of the future. We do this by delivering launches, one-offs and seasonal creative placemaking events.
Our team has years of experience in organising events and activations that leave a lasting impression on a community or space. We are always looking for new ways to enrich areas while creating special memories for visitors and members of a community.

What is Creative Placemaking?
At it’s heart, creative placemaking is about using the power of art and creativity to make a positive impact on communities by putting on events and more.
This can take many different forms, such as public art installations, cultural festivals, community murals, and creative programming in public spaces.
So, what do we do?
Well, by inviting us to work with you, we take control of many different aspects of an event. We can help with the production itself, organising everything from stages to seating. We also collaborate with other teams such as suppliers and stallholders who may be taking part in the event, and ensure the organisation process runs smoothly.
From preparing for an event and collecting all relevant documentation, to making sure anything that needs to be is removed safely and the location is left in a good condition, our team covers the lot.
