Brief

We Are Placemaking recently collaborated with St James Quarter to present a one of a kind Seafood festival. We were asked by St James Quarter to create an exciting schedule of seafood-inspired events to bring Edinburgh’s famous shopping space to life. The team needed to source experienced chefs, create a botanical themed area, and provide production management to the weekends events.

What we did

We Are Placemaking pulled together a show-stopping seafood festival, which included, coordinating an exciting schedule of various food and drinks partners, and famous chefs, performing cooking demonstrations for guests to enjoy. An oyster shack was staged in the centre of the space alongside a Johnnie Walker activation, our brand partner for the event. We Are Placemaking delivered the event end to end. From overseeing the construction of the 12 meter dome placed in the centre of St James Quarter. To dressing and designing the dome to fit the desired theme.

Working closely with the St James Quarter Team, we produced this event to a COVID safety standard, ensuring all health and safety management, pre-event, during and post-event, was taken care of. The team also managed all logistics behind the scenes by sourcing local AV and tech companies, florists and partners to take part.
