Brief
After the resounding success of last year’s event, we were again requested to deliver this fantastic celebration of Uzbekistan culture within the beautiful surroundings of Potters Fields Park, London.
This year, Oshpaz and the Uzbekistan Government wanted to create a festival even more memorable than before – with additional offerings, higher footfall, and a partnership with the State Unitary Enterprise National PR Center.
This unique opportunity to showcase Uzbek culture is really special for our team, and we were excited to continue building our partnership to produce this one-of-a-kind event for visitors from far and wide.
What we did
From arts and crafts exhibitions showcasing traditional Uzbek craftwork, to traditional live music and DJs, and a whole tonne of Plov cooked by Uzbek chefs in the open air – Uzbek Culture and Food Festival offered a huge range of fun and flavour against the backdrop of Tower Bridge.
We had a strong understanding of Oshpaz’s vision and, as always, we focused on visitor experience – with a particular emphasis on space following an incredible turnout in 2023.
New additions included a secluded area for special guests and Uzbekistan signatories to mingle. The new HERO moment came in the form of an arch decorated with beautiful Uzbekistan art, which can be used for future events in a bid to minimise waste.
The client was keen to make the stage area even more engaging then the year prior, so we worked with our brilliant suppliers to make sure the client’s needs were met – implementing a new catwalk which enabled performers to be within touching distance of guests.
The nature of this event requires strong communications with parties both in the UK and over 3,700 miles away in Uzbekistan. Our experience overcoming language barriers enabled us to succeed again this year, and we supported international artists, traders and chef teams manage structures throughout the event to ensure a safe festival for all attending. We continued to provide services through our suppliers critical to such a large event, such as crewing, security and medical.
This year, we welcomed just over 30,000 guests through the event who enjoyed food, drinks, music, crafts and culture from Uzbekistan Culture. We were honoured to produce such a successful event, and look forward to continuing our collaboration with OshPaz and the Government of Uzbekistan.
