Introduction

We Are Placemaking were delighted to work with Greenford Quay to deliver their ‘Winter Warmer & Wonders’ event, including full production, styling and Covid-19 specific Health & Safety. The event saw a programme of fantastic Christmas themed virtual workshops over a December weekend. The workshops ranged from constructing and decorating your own Gingerbread House to heart-warming stories read by Santa.

We Are Placemaking were originally brought in to run Greenford Quays live Christmas event taking place on the communal outdoor grounds of Greenford Quay. The National Lockdown meant that a live event was no longer possible and an alternative option under new government restricts and regulations was needed. We worked alongside Greenford Quay to design a virtual event format in order to keep up brand presence and create fun, accessible and engaging content for the community to enjoy from the safety of their homes.

Challenge

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, only a limited team of staff with the correct PPE were allowed into the studio. We Are Placemaking worked continuously to ensure all staff on site were complying with Covid-19 regulations and restricting access where needed.

All workshops were streamed live and therefore entailed live guest interaction throughout the process.
