Brief
The We Are Placemaking team were approached by the
EC BID, a Business Improvement District working to promote and enhance the City of London known as the Eastern City, to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III. EC BID wanted to turn the City of London ‘green’ in honour of the King’s passion for the environment. The team wanted to run a sustainable campaign that encouraged guests to ‘go green’ and create something that was exciting and memorable.
What we did
We Are Placemaking installed a glorious crown in Seething Lane Gardens, City of London, to encourage visitors to celebrate the coronation in a natural environment. Here, EC BID hosted a range of activities – from outdoor yoga classes to picnics with free hampers for those who joined. Over at the Sky Garden, one of London’s most famed destinations, We Are Placemaking installed urban allotments to promote sustainable living and again nod to the King’s love for nature.
