Brief

Four Agency Worldwide – a leading and independent media, marketing, and communications agency – reached out to We Are Placemaking to organise a Pumpkin Patch at Cowcross Yards in London.

The client wanted this creative placemaking concept to reach the surrounding community, including local businesses, schools and tenants. They wanted to enhance the public realm with a range of activities to be enjoyed by guests of all ages.

What we did

Working with the client’s modern concept, we set out to craft a vibrant event that not only engaged the local community, but also elevated the brand image of Four Agency Worldwide in the area.

Our team procured, created, and installed a beautiful pumping patch, boasting up to 500 pumpkins across the two-day event. This eye-catching pumpkin patch was adorned with bay hales, white picket fencing and decorative bunting in the signature colours of Cowcross, to be displayed in front of the beautiful Cowcross Yards mural painting, and creating a picturesque setting that became a focal point for fantastic pictures taken by everyone that passed by.

Guests were immersed in the seasonal spirit as they delighted in picking their own pumpkins – capturing memorable moments to be shared on social media and leading to further traction online. To add an extra layer of excitement, we collaborated with the renowned Graffiti Kings, who brought their Halloween-inspired graffiti designs to adorn the pumpkins. Attendees had the unique opportunity of purchasing these unique decorated pumpkins, which were designed specifically for them in a live workshop – with the first 50 lucky individuals receiving theirs for free!

The results were nothing short of spectacular – with a vast quantity of pumpkins sold and the remaining amount generously donated to Hackney Farm, alongside the hay bales which their animals were able to enjoy.  The event not only achieved its goals but exceeded expectations. The vibrant pumpkin patch not only contributed to the community’s festive spirit but also left a lasting impression, enhancing Four Agency Worldwide’s brand presence.

We are proud to have orchestrated an event that not only showcased the creativity and innovation of a successful placemaking project, but also brought joy to the local community. The success of this London placemaking event demonstrates the power of thorough event planning and execution in creating positive and memorable experiences for both clients and attendees. All-in-all, a pumpkin-filled triumph in London’s Cowcross Yards.
