Brief

For almost a decade, We Are Placemaking has proudly partnered with Howard de Walden Estate to deliver the annual Marylebone Summer Festival, a much-loved community event that celebrates the people, businesses and unique character of Marylebone Village.

Howard de Walden Estate is responsible for overseeing a diverse community of residents, educational institutions and businesses, including the retail and leisure destination of Marylebone Village and the world-renowned healthcare providers of the Harley Street Health District. Working together over the past nine years, we have helped bring the Estate’s vision for the festival to life through thoughtful planning, stakeholder collaboration and seamless event delivery.

Held on Sunday 14 June, the free community festival transformed the streets of Marylebone into a vibrant destination for residents and visitors alike. The event featured around 100 artisan food, drink and retail stalls, showcasing the very best of local independent businesses alongside entertainment for all ages.

Visitors enjoyed a programme of live music, centred around a stage in Paddington Street Gardens, while families explored dedicated children’s activities and four-legged visitors were welcomed to the popular Bark in the Park area.

The client’s ambition was to create a welcoming event that celebrated the local community, increased footfall across Marylebone Village and highlighted the area’s outstanding businesses. Drawing on our long-standing relationship with Howard de Walden Estate, We Are Placemaking developed and delivered an event that reflected the unique identity of the neighbourhood while providing a safe and engaging experience for everyone involved.
