Brief

We Are Placemaking were given the exciting opportunity to take over a unit within the Eden Shopping Centre in High Wycombe to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend. The idea was to put on a series of creative workshops over the weekend that could be enjoyed by Mother’s, daughters, friends and families alike. The event objective was to create a space with an Instagrammable aesthetic to encourage visitors to create content and increase footfall to the Shopping Centre as a whole.

What we did

We Are Placemaking activated one of the empty retail units within the centre, transforming it into a hub of creativity and community engagement. 8 different masterclasses took place over the weekend including dried floristry, candle making, and calligraphy. All against a backdrop of boho styling and furniture. We wanted to create a comfortable yet chic space that would be a perfect setting for our guests to enjoy the workshops, so neutral tones, rustic wooden and rattan furniture and an array of dried foliage and soft linen was a must. Additionally, we created dedicated areas styled for social media engagement for visitors to enjoy and capture content.
