WEMBLEY PARK: IMMERSIVE MAZE
We Are Placemaking are delighted to have been appointed to curate and design an event for the Winter campaign at Wembley Park that fits with the new creative, vibrant and culturally innovative neighbourhood. The Placemaking team worked with Ben Busche, from Brut Deluxe to commission the UK First 36 panel light maze, Silvana as part of the Xmas Box campaign across Wembley Park. The Light Maze, Silvana, is a UK first and is an immersive light installation consisting of semi-transparent panels, that reflect light rays in a rainbow colour spectrum, creating the ultimate Instagram-able moment!

Matt Simkin from Wembley Park said:
“Wembley Park has a well-established entertainment heritage, now undergoing one of Europe’s fastest regeneration – the developer Quintain has the ambition to deliver London’s newest cultural district. Our placemaking is imperative for this, and during 2018 we’ve delivered a diary with partners of a playful, cultural, creative nature, a theme which continued into Christmas 2018 and will into this year. Our objective was to deliver a visually stunning, immersive experience with strong artistic merit that can function seamlessly within the evolving landscape of our estate. The Light Maze which We Are Placemaking have produced for us with Brut Deluxe, delivers on all of this, whilst a sequence of illuminated cubes down Olympic Way showcase the heart of our estate and provide a nod to Box Park Wembley, Wembley Park’s latest entertainment hub opening in December.
We are delighted with the results, the team have been helpful and professional to accommodate all of our requests to the highest of standards – I am very happy to recommend We Are Placemaking and look forward to working with them in the future“.

THE HOWARD DE WALDEN ESTATE: MARYLEBONE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
We Are Placemaking were recommended to The Howard de Walden Estate, a landlord that owns and manages 92 acres of real estate in Marylebone. A couple of our team were asked to support the Estate team for the Marylebone Christmas Lights ‘switch on’ event. The event was a huge success with Roger Daltrey at the helm of the official switch on with a display of pyro and confetti streamers to celebrate the evening.

LIVERPOOL ONE: BESPOKE POLARIS INSTALLATION
Another new client for We Are Placemaking in late 2018 was Liverpool ONE. The brief was to create a unique structure for Chavasse Park during the Winter Period, to reflect the culture in the city to mark the 10th anniversary of City of Culture for Liverpool. We Are Placemaking curated a brand new light installation called Polaris exclusively for Liverpool.
Speaking about Polaris, the artist behind the installation said: “Every time people visit, whether it is day, dusk or evening, there will be something different to see. The exhibit is inspired by the brightest star in the constellation. It is designed to show how far and wide Liverpool’s culture has spread. It has been wonderful creating such a unique piece for the city. We are very proud to have created such a bold and unique structure.”
