Brief

In the lead up to Valentine’s Day We Are Placemaking were asked by The Northbank BID to create a photo opportunity activation situated in the heart of Charing Cross Station. Inviting guests to ‘Capture A Memory’ they wanted us to create a seated installation so visitors could take a picture, post it and then be entered into a competition hosted by the BID’s. We Are Placemaking we were asked to oversee all core elements of the project including the lead up to the live event plus install and de-rig.

Having delivered many other London placemaking projects, as well as placemaking projects across the UK and further afield, the We Are Placemaking team were keen to get involved.

What we did

From concept to the final result we wanted our Valentine’s activation to look as luxurious as possible. The whole piece was covered in a mix of real touch, silk, and velvet luxe rose heads, peonies, dahlias and carnations with a heart shape framing the seat and really making it the star of the show. We installed pink and red rose wall panels to attract attention and ensured the whole piece was finished beautifully with a variety of foliage, as attention to detail was key with this installation.

We also collaborated with our sister company We Are Ops who provided Health & Safety services for the installation and de-rig of this beautiful activation.
