Brief
On the 16th of October, Eastern City BID brought Black History Month to life in the heart of the City of London with a vibrant day-long activation at Leadenhall Market. As a longstanding client committed to enriching the local cultural fabric, Eastern City BID tasked We Are Placemaking with delivering a meaningful celebration that centred Black voices, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
From 12–6pm, the iconic market space was transformed by the arrival of the Black Culture Market, featuring six Black-owned businesses selling handmade soaps, jewellery, and clothing. A live DJ provided the soundtrack throughout the day, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere that encouraged browsing, interaction, and discovery.
Health & Safety planning for the event was managed in collaboration with our partners at We Are OPS.
