Brent Cross Town residents, businesses and visitors enjoyed an action-packed time at The Play-Offs earlier this month, at the UK’s first ever free competitive socialising weekender.

The Play-Offs invited participants to test their skills, speed and teamwork in a wide range of challenges, from climbing walls and high ropes to baseball, bungee runs and Batak Pro.

Taking place across Exploratory Park and Claremont Park, the two-day event was produced by our team at We Are Placemaking, in collaboration with leading property developer, Related Argent.

A highlight of the weekend was Chase Tag, an adrenaline-fuelled combination of parkour and playground tag. Visitors were able to take part in open workshops led by professionals in the run-up to the weekend, before watching world-class athletes in action during the International Chase Off. Competing teams included reigning world champions, showcasing spectacular speed and agility.

The event welcomed participants aged 16+ to compete in teams of two or four, with live leaderboards and prizes keeping the atmosphere lively and inclusive. Importantly, no sporting background was required, The Play-Offs was designed for anyone to get involved, try something new, and enjoy free activities that promote movement and community spirit.

Coverage of the weekend reflected the uniqueness of the event, with outlets such as Secret London highlighting The Play-Offs as one of the capital’s exciting new experiences.

With many visitors across the weekend, high engagement on social media, and strong coverage in lifestyle press, The Play-Offs demonstrated the power of placemaking through active, accessible, and imaginative programming.
